So I’ve started spending some time helping out with LiveJournal support, and as of last night, I’ve started to get some points!

Boy, can the support thing ever get addictive — it’s a good thing this was a long weekend, as I had one of those moments where you look at the clock and see that it’s closer to morning than night last night. I used to volunteer heavily on EFnet #irchelp, and had to watch my time commitment there too, but hopefully this won’t be quite as demanding.

It’s a neat system they have — no-one has to answer questions they don’t want to answer (because someone else will), and for the first longish while your answers are all screened by people that have been there longer. This means that sometimes your answer gets passed over, but mostly it means that when you screw up it’s just between you and whoever reviewed your post, which is pleasantly reassuring.

Just what I need — more to do online!
