Here’s the rack I was talking about yesterday. Picked it up after work today, took 15 minutes to install. I still need to cut the fender back a bit but didn’t have anything handy to do it with. Also I can’t find my bungee net from the motorcycle, which means I probably left it on the motorcycle. Ah well, cheap enough to replace.

Now I need something to carry! And a box to put groceries in.

Goings-on

This morning’s double take: Last night before I left the office, I sent mail to a few coworkers and a few Toronto friends asking for recommendations for DSL and VOIP providers. This morning I had recommendations from a bunch of people I knew, and one person I didn’t. Why one person I didn’t? Because one person I asked didn’t know, so they asked Mark Evans, who also didn’t know, so he asked Rob Hyndman, who forwarded my question on to this guy (who’s on the board at TorIX), who got back to me directly.

Perhaps I was onto something when I concluded that there was little to no Internet industry left in Ottawa, and that it was concentrated in Toronto.

Perhaps.

(Of course, if you have DSL advice for me and I forgot to email you, I’m accepting it here too!)

Work continues to go well. Tomorrow’s the release of a new version of FreshBooks. It’s really too early for me to be involved hands-on in a new release, but I’ll at least get to see the procedure. I also took a few photos of the office. A bit of a difference from before, eh?

Other than actual work time, I’m pretty much ready for these two “advance weeks” to end. I need to get Christmas over with so I can concentrate on the move. Things have been fine here, but I’m just ready to head home for a bit, and then to head over to new-home here. Driving has been a real pain with the big snowfall, since I still don’t entirely know my way around, roads are about half a lane narrower, and parking has been up at the air both at the apartment and at work because of snow everywhere. Once I get into the new apartment and start doing public transportation pretty much everywhere I think that’ll improve a bit.

Thursday night’s the office Christmas party, which should be fun. That forces my hand on shopping: I must pick up something silly for the gift “exchange” by tomorrow night, so I’ll brave heading downtown then. (Downtown should be easy — walk over to Yonge and Eglinton, subway down to Queen. But everything’s just a little disorienting because of the snow and the busy-ness.)

Four (maybe three!) sleeps until I see Candice again, though! Yay!

I clearly like chili.

Today’s purchase: American Apparel two-metres-of-cotton-jersey purple scarf. So simple but I love it! Thin enough to wear indoors and be The Guy That Wears A Scarf Indoors which is basically me in a nutshell.

Does this look like an MBA student? No? Whaddya know.

So now I need more of these scarves. Here’s the range of colors. I think I want black, white, and the darker of these striped ones, but I’m open to suggestions too.

(Also: Love these jeans. Would you believe they’re from the Gap? “Morrison” slim-fit. I’m so glad I can finally wear slim-fit without looking like an inverted triangle — down to 180 lbs from >200, and a 34″ waist from a 36+. A few years ago that was 220 and a 38″, too. Yay!)

RSS feed readers: Flickr, del.icio.us change

So I’ve finally got posting phone photos to Flickr working, and posting phone photos via Flickr to my blog working. That means that I can blog things that I see as they happen, instead of when I remember to get them off my phone! Which is good.

But doing so reminded me that for ages I’ve had things set up so that posts to Flickr show up in the FeedBurner RSS feed for this blog. That… doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when I think about it. Anyone reading this thing over RSS or at LiveJournal is perfectly capable of subscribing to my Flickr and delicious RSS feeds (below) if they’re interested in those too.

So as of right now, my Flickr photos and del.icio.us links won’t show up in the Feedburner RSS feed for this blog.

I hope you still want to see my photos, though! I’ll post blog entries about particularly interesting ones, and some of my phone photo posts will show up here. But if you want to see them all, or if you want to watch my del.icio.us bookmarks, hyar ’tis:
