(Two posts in one day! When it rains, it pours!)

So I was poking around the new amazon.ca site last night, and found an edition of Luigi Serafini’s Codex Seraphinianus that I’d never heard of before.

This edition is put out by a subsidiary of Random House, which is unusual because the Codex tends to be published by craft publishers such as Franco Maria Ricci in Europe (who have recently started printing it again, at 200EUR) and Abbeville Press in the United States. It’s even more unusual because it’s under $30.

I imagine it’s an error on Amazon’s part, but it may just be an inexpensive reproduction. I don’t think I want an inexpensive reproduction, but I’ve ordered it anyhow, to find out what it is. I expect they won’t have anything to ship to me, and if they do, I expect I’ll send it back, but it will be interesting to see what it is.

I still want my own FMR Codex.

In the meantime, I notice that Carleton University here in Ottawa has a copy of the Abbeville edition. I think I shall go visit them soon. (Anyone care to join me?)
